Apostille Services in Kingwood, TX

Texas apostilles are issued only in Austin. We prepare your Kingwood document, notarize it when it needs that, and hand-file it in person at the Secretary of State in Austin so you don't make the trip.

Getting a Kingwood document ready for another country

Your employer is moving you to Doha and HR wants an apostilled marriage certificate before the family visas go in. Or your daughter is starting a master's program in Madrid and the university wants her Kingwood High School transcript with an apostille attached. Either way, the paperwork goes through one office in Austin, and it has to arrive in the right shape.

That's where things usually stall. The Harris County Clerk can't issue an apostille. Neither can a Kingwood bank, a law office on Kingwood Drive or a notary. In Texas, only the Authentications Unit of the Secretary of State issues them, and it returns anything with a notarization problem or a photocopy where a certified copy was needed.

We're Lee's Mobile and Online Notary, owned by Albert Lee and Aimani Lawless. We check your document against what Austin accepts, notarize it if that's required, fill out the state request form and hand-file it in Austin ourselves. Kingwood is across Houston from our base in Katy, so most Kingwood clients work with us by text, mail and online notarization. If it's easier, you can also meet us in Katy.

Why Kingwood families use an apostille service

Kingwood is a 14,000-acre community, the largest master-planned community in Harris County, built by King Ranch and an Exxon subsidiary. Plenty of households here have ties abroad through work, school and family.

1

Austin is a long way off

Kingwood sits about 30 miles northeast of downtown Houston, and Austin is well beyond that. Submitting through us means no day off work. Rush service takes 1–3 business days; standard is about a week.

2

Two counties, two clerks

Most of Kingwood is in Harris County; the northern edge is in Montgomery County. We tell you which clerk issued your record so you order the certified copy once.

3

Rejections are common

The state sends back documents with a missing notary seal, an expired commission or the wrong certificate wording. We look for those problems first.

4

Notarization included

Powers of attorney, affidavits and consent letters need a Texas notarization first. We do that online on a video call, even if you're already abroad.

5

Calls answered at odd hours

A consulate in Lagos or a registrar in Seoul doesn't work on Houston time. We pick up at (832) 741-3190 around the clock.

6

School records handled right

Humble ISD transcripts and Lone Star College-Kingwood records need a registrar's signature and a notarization before Austin accepts them. We'll tell you what to ask the school for.

How your Kingwood apostille gets done

Step 1

Text us the document

Send a photo of each page and tell us the country it's going to. We'll say whether it's ready, needs a notarization or needs a certified copy first.

Step 2

We fix the gaps

If it needs notarizing, we set up an online session. If it's a public record, we point you to the Harris or Montgomery County Clerk for a certified copy.

Step 3

We submit to Austin

We complete the Secretary of State's request form and hand-file your original, with the state fee, in person at the Authentications Unit in Austin.

Step 4

You get it back

The apostilled document returns to your Kingwood address, or we send it on to the school, employer or consulate that asked for it.

Batches welcome

Birth certificates for four kids, or a stack of records for a Texas LLC, go in together.

What a Texas apostille does and doesn't do

An apostille certifies that the signature and seal on a Texas document are genuine. Texas issues a universal certificate that works as an apostille for Hague Convention countries and as an authentication for the rest, though non-Hague countries may add embassy steps. It covers documents issued in Texas or notarized by a Texas notary. A birth certificate from Oklahoma or a diploma from LSU needs that state's apostille, and an FBI background check goes through the federal government.

It doesn't vouch for what the document says or translate it. Public records must be certified copies from the issuing office; a photocopy, even a notarized one, comes back without an apostille. If a bank, school or consulate told you exactly what they want, forward that message with the document so we can match it.

Apostille in Kingwood, TX

Kingwood is a master-planned community in northeast Houston, called the Livable Forest since its first village opened in 1971. Houston annexed it in 1996. Most of it is in Harris County, with a smaller northern portion in Montgomery County, and it's organized into villages, most with their own pool, park and elementary school. Mailing addresses use ZIP codes 77339, 77345 and 77325, plus part of 77346 on the Atascocita side. We work with residents in every village, from Trailwood and Kingwood Town Center out to Lake Houston.

For certified records, Harris County residents can use the County Clerk downtown at 201 Caroline Street or the Humble Annex at 7900 Will Clayton Parkway, the closest annex to Kingwood. Check the clerk's website first, since annexes don't offer every service and birth and death certificates go only to immediate family with ID. If your record was filed in Montgomery County, the County Clerk is at 210 West Davis Street in Conroe. Divorce decrees come from the district clerk of the county that granted the divorce.

What our clients say

Common questions about apostille in Kingwood

Is there an apostille office in Kingwood or Humble?

No. Texas apostilles come only from the Secretary of State's Authentications Unit in Austin. We prepare and submit your document so you don't have to go.

Can I drive to Austin and do it myself?

You can, but from Kingwood it's around three hours each way. The Secretary of State takes walk-ins only on Mondays and Fridays and requires an appointment Tuesday through Thursday. Each person or company is limited to 10 documents, and walk-in waits can run over an hour. Mailing it in takes up to two weeks. We review your document first so it doesn't get turned away at the counter.

My birth certificate is from Harris County. Do I need a new copy?

If what you have is a certified copy with the county seal, usually not. If it's a photocopy or a hospital certificate, you'll need a certified copy from the Harris County Clerk.

Can you apostille a Kingwood High School transcript?

Yes, once the registrar signs it and a Texas notary notarizes that signature. Ask the Humble ISD registrar for a signed official copy and we'll handle the notarization and submission.

I'm already overseas. Can you still help?

Yes. We can notarize your document on a video call from wherever you are, then submit the apostille request here in Texas.

Do you come to Kingwood in person?

Our mobile notary mainly covers Katy and west Houston. For Kingwood we usually notarize online and handle the rest by mail. Ask about an in-person visit when you call.

Sending a document from Kingwood overseas?

Text a photo of it and the destination country to (832) 741-3190. We'll tell you what it needs and get it to Austin.
